Penning a thought

Inside my head there's a wild riot-
Of dreams, expressions and a sudden thought.
I cast about for words that rhyme-
And string them together in no time.
But what if they do not make much sense?
Rhyming can go to hell..I drop all pretense.
Forgetting all about the work at hand-
I'm magically transported to an imaginary land,
Where I am free to spin marvellous tales-
About gallant men and picturesque vales.
There's never a dull moment or a forlorn me-
Whenever I write...it's pure ecstasy.

Poetic conceit.... marvelous........rhyme can go to hell and we drop our pretense to weave our sanity or insanity into lines that rhyme.....rhythm is one thing that can buoy sunken dreams of screams of feelings and thoughts juxtaposed as ephemeral bubbles of ecstasy on the bosom of one seething ocean of our consciousness.. .... wonderful.. :)

Wow, this is beautiful. :)

Very nice!! Just curious about your definition of gallant men...

Samadrita said...

D2, Ritu di, Niraj,: Absolutely.

@Anish: I just wanted to write something about writing. :D

@Sayandeep: I wouldn't call it poetic conceit...merely the feelings of one who finds her salvation in writing. :)

@Meera: Thanks. Glad you liked it.

@Giribala: LOL actually that line doesn't carry much meaning. At one point I decided to write 'beautiful women and picturesque vales' but since I am a woman myself I decided to change it to 'gallant men'. Gallant men as in important historic figures or mythological characters or war heroes. :)

I couldn't agree with you more.

For me writing is a cathartic experience. My blog is my platform to vent, muse and amuse.

You pretty much stated what writers think and feel while writing...

I just can't stop smiling at this basic fact. (And also the fact that I'm a lazy writer... ^^;)

Samadrita said...

@Bikramjit, Purba, Ayu: Exactly. That's how each one of us feel I suppose.

@Tomz: Thank you for those kind words. And yes welcome to my blog. :)

@Deepa: Glad.

@Selenium: The problem with me is that I'm lazy at all other times except when I'm writing. ;)

Whenever you are true to something, the emotions come more easily to words and mingle therefore. That is what happens here too. Its pure ecstasy and it is mutual. :)

God bless.

rhyming can be surely a bit of a headache :)
But sitting back relaxing on that chair of yours and writing is pure pleasure.Thoughts are precious people think they forget but writers, they savor it all their lives. this was well written, a carefree piece that really shows that its not about rhyming or binding a couple of words, its all about you living your moment once again. well written and keep writing.
